My name is Regina Barr, and I’m a candidate for state representative in House District 52B. I’m a 23-year resident of Minnesota and an 18 year resident of Inver Grove Heights. I’m the owner of Red Ladder, Inc., a corporate consulting and executive coaching firm, and I currently serve on the boards of the Breast Cancer Education Association and Minnesota Excellence in Public Service. I also serve on Public Policy Committee for the National Association of Women Business Owners.
I’m not afraid of hard work. I grew up the daughter of a single mother, who raised me and my three brothers while working as a waitress at the Turndale Diner in a town not far from where we lived. My mom could have been a victim. Instead, my mom taught me the conservative values of hard work, personal responsibility and accountability, and how to be financially independent, not putting my financial security in anyone’s hands particularly the government. Above all, she taught me to honor God and respect the men and women of the armed forces who ensure our freedom.
Why I’m Running
At a time when many are disillusioned by politics and our elected officials, I feel it is important that every day, common-sense folks step up to lead our state. People like you and me. People with a new vision and new ideas who will listen, learn and act.
I will bring all of our visions together and work together to get things done. I will work to move the legislature in a fresh, new direction — a direction that respects you, the taxpayer.
Education is important to me. I put myself through college earning a BBA, MBA and MA. I have corporate, non-profit and small business experience. I’m a recognized business leader who has managed multi-million dollar projects and budgets. I’m a good communicator and negotiator with a passion and discipline for making things happen.
